Dear members:
At first we will engage in the theory and quality of light (1), we will observe how it has developed thru the work of old Dutch Masters and how they developed a sense of dimension and composition for daily objects (2), we will reproduce the atmosphere and composition on a modern digital photo studio (3) and, finally, we will explore these applications for contemporary catalogue work for advertising. Please remember: this is a conversation. At the Swiss Photo Club we want to inspire people to take better photos!
This workshop is recommended for intermediate photographers with a sense of aesthetics and control of a SLR in Manual mode. If you use Nikon cameras you are my friend for life, if not, you will pay the bar tab.
Full description of the light set up and historic references will be provided.
Water, crackers and WC provided, parking on designated “Besucher” area or off the street available, it is an 8 min. walk from the bus station if you think the planet is a bit too warm. No smoking of any kind, leave your pipe at home.
Remember, Still life is an art form that takes time and patience if you are an event or streetphoto shooter you will need to adjust your speed dial.
Please be on time.
Info: The workshop will be in English. German speaking participants are welcome.
