Photography Competition in Zurich
Join our famous photography competition
with your best photo(s) and get them exhibited
at the Gallery Photobastei in Zurich.
All submitted photos will be exhibited and open for votes:
50 photos (selected by our jury) will be shown in a larger format.
Each of the other submitted photos will be shown in a smaller size.
We have fantastic prizes for our winners – everyone has a chance to win!
Exhibition open from November 5-14, 2020 at Galerie Photobastei.
Who can join the competition?
This photography competition is open to all photography enthusiasts, amateur or professional.
The exhibition will be held in central Zurich.

Registration Fee:
Regular Price:
CHF 40.- per photo plus VAT
For SPC members and former SPC course students:
CHF 20.- per photo plus VAT
Your contribution covers the costs associated with printing the photos and renting the gallery.
Each person who signs up receives a credit for 40.- CHF off their next photography course with Swiss Photo Club.
How it works:
Please submit your photos (max 5 per person) before the deadline, using the registration form.
Every submitted photo will be printed, exhibited and eligible for votes from visitors during the exhibition.
A panel of Swiss Photo Club instructors will select their favorite 50 photos from all submissions. These photos will be printed in a bigger size (approx. 40cm x 60cm, depending on the ratio) on ifolor Alu-Dibond. The remaining photos will be printed by ifolor in a smaller size (approx. 13cm x 21cm).
Prizes:
5 photos will receive fantastic prizes from our sponsors during the closing celebration:
- 3 most-voted photos, from among all submissions
- 1 most-voted photo from among the smaller prints
- 1 jury award

During the exhibition, we offer free workshops led by our photography instructors.

What happens during the exhibition?
Since 2016, we have organized this photography competition regularly in Geneva, Zurich, and Basel. We have been happy to welcome more than a thousand visitors each time.

Conditions:
- No specific theme is required
- Max. 5 photos per person are allowed
- Submit your photos as JPG in sRGB, min 2000px wide (long edge), 300 dpi
- Important: the image ratios must be one of the following: 2:3, 3:4, 1:1 or 1:3
- Each photo will be offered for sale unless you opt out. If your photo is sold, you will receive CHF 100.- from the sale.
- If there’s a person who is clearly identifiable in your photo, you may submit it for exhibition and be eligible for prizes. However, a model release is required in order to offer it for sale. See examples here.
- No watermarks or copyright signs may be visible on your submitted photos.
- You will always keep the rights for your photo. We will not use your work for commercial purposes outside of SPC Photo Awards-related events.
