A full-day excursion to Switzerland’s most beautiful places

Beautiful landscapes are all around us in Switzerland – they are a joy to experience, but a challenge to capture in a single photo. In our new Landscape Photography day-trip format, you’ll learn the essential tools and techniques for taking photographs that reflect the splendor of landscapes and the captivating details of nature during a full day with our professional instructors.

Each trip will start at the designated meeting place on location. After a short introduction to composition, planning and camera technique, the instructor will take you to the best locations in the area and show you many different techniques and tips during the day. We will hike through mesmerising landscapes, visit mirror-like mountain lakes and find compositions during daytime and sunset.

Expect to improve the way you think about, take and process your photographs during your adventures as well as learning how to plan your itinerary to make the best shots. All while you discover the best places in our beautiful country.

Recommended to all levels of photographers who have learned the basics of their cameras and settings and would like to spend a full day in a beautiful location, to come back with great photos and improve their understanding of landscape and travel photography.

In this course, your instructor will cover:

  • Planning your trips
  • Finding the right light
  • Finding great compositions
  • Which lens to use for which purpose
  • Using filters like a pro: ND / ND Grad / Polariser
  • Using tripods like a pro
  • Using fast / slow shutter speeds for special effects
  • Post processing tips

Of course you will also get 1:1 feedback about your work and ask any questions as you encounter different shooting challenges.

Course Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of photography including aperture, shutter speed, camera lenses and ISO including exposure modes. If you think you might need a bit of extra help, have a look at our Beginners Courses first.
  • Your camera, either a DSLR or a compact equivalent with manual exposure.
    (No camera? No problem. We offer free camera hire during the course, just tell us in advance).
  • Hiking is part of the trip, so make sure to check the specifics of each location for the level of difficulty.
  • Positive attitude and passion for visual arts 🙂
